Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is the Charity called Zest for Life?
A:The Charity grew out of a Global School Partnership Project that had begun to benefit from a range of fundraising initiatives. One of these was a memorial project created by Karen and Tony Jones to celebrate the life of their son and to raise funds to support the Partnership Project. With the help and support of World of Roses, Bedford, a new rose was chosen and given a name that summed up Ross and his short life. The name has connotations of hope and the fulfilment of potential that we wish for students both here and in Kenya. As an ongoing fundraising tool the rose also demonstrates our commitment to a sustainable relationship with our Kenyan partners.
Q: What are the roses like and how can I buy one?
A: This beautiful orange blended
floribunda rose (see top of page) grows to around 11/2
feet and has a wonderful fragrance.

Q: How do I become a sponsor?
A: Please contact us at mail@zfl.org.uk or download our form here, if you are a tax payer, you can also Gift Aid your payment
Q: How do you check where the money goes?
A: We have developed checks and balances based on receipts and signatures and we work closely with our Kenyan partners to ensure that they understand our need for firm evidence of receipt before the next payment is made. At present we are developing a legally binding trust agreement that will give us more confidence and give our partners more say in how the funds are used. Under this agreement members of Miriu school staff, governing body and community leaders will be involved in the receipt and allocation of funds.
