Innis Breakfast Club

We've been providing a porridge meal for the youngest 40 children at Innis for five years.

These children aged 3 to 5 arrive hungry each morning (some walk 5m to get to school) and often don't eat until they return home in the evening.

We know that giving these small children this highly nutritious meal in the morning helps to sustain their energy and concentration throughout the school day. We've seen numbers at the school increase as parents are encouraged to send their children to Innis because they will receive a meal.

As a result, children from very poor families have a chance to go to school regularly, their academic progress and general health improve and their chances of completing school are increased.

Our aim is to roll this programme out the the older children - find out how you can help us on our Sponsoring Page.

Our current programme is funded by regular donors - a donation of £3 per month feeds one nursery child. The cost of a coffee here in the UK equates to the value of improved education and health for a school child in Kenya. Find out here how you can become a Breakfast Club Sponsor.
