About Zest For Life
Zest for Life became a Registered Charity in November 2008.
The Charity grew out of a successful Global Schools Partnership between two UK and two Kenyan schools: Thomas Adams Wem with Miriu Secondary School and Buntingsdale Primary, Market Drayton with Innis Primary. Both Kenyan schools are located on the Sondu plateau in Upper Nyakach District, a remote rural area in the west of the country.
The Sondu plateau is difficult to access, few homes have electricity or piped water and the people who live there are mostly subsistance farmers.
The name given to a memorial rose that had proved a useful fundraising tool for the education partnership was adopted as the name of the Charity. Zest for Life now operates independently of the schools partnership.
To advance the education of the pupils at Miriu Secondary School and Innis School, Kenya

- Facilities and consumable supplies employed in the educational provision at the schools.
- Relief for financial hardship, either generally or individually, of teachers and pupils attending the schools, and their families.
- Assistance in the professional development of teachers working in the schools.
Zest for Life is entirely run by volunteers and we have few overhead costs.
For every £1 donated in 2017, 97p was spent on our charitable work and went directly to support our beneficiaries.
